Make no mistake this game came down to coaching lloyd learned from the first match up and changed there defense and was going to make Walton throw the ball and Walton coaches were to stubbern to change up the game plan, sad really. Walton threw the ball two times until the last minutes and both were for there only first downs, I was a little confused on why not do it more if its there.

Easy answer is they don't do it very well. You also forgot what happened to the last pass they threw. Interception! :taz:

You have not watched Walton much this year. You play to your personnel. Walton average over 400 yards per game on the ground since week 1 and was quite successful, including a dominate performance over Lloyd early. Lloyd executed this time and Walton didn't, good for Lloyd.

Not that surprised on this one.. I figured it would be a close game- talked to a Lloyd guy and he had said they were gonna make Walton beat them in the air. Can't win in postseason when you are one dimensional- have to be able to change it up with different looks.. Lack of preparation or general oversight? Also not 100% on this but if you look at schedules from the season I would have given Lloyd the edge b/c of better competition.. While WV was playing Gallatin, Trimble, Estill, etc. Lloyd had a pretty decent haul in late season.. (Holy Cross, NCC, Newport, Bellevue) Even in losses, when you play better competition it makes you better..

Right they should be afraid of a powerhouse like NCC? This is exactly why the team leader would set the tone for the team immediately. The frame of mind is not "oh no, NCC", its "Bring 'em on"! I love it!

Exactly. Why even compete in athletics if you dont believe that you will win? I like what he said. If NewCath needs this to get fired up the I would be concerned about where they are mentally. It's the playoffs, that should be all the motivation that a team needs

Yes the last pass was intercepted but by that time it was a desparation pass with lloyd in a prevent defense, not what I am talking about. I am saying early in the game when lloyd was in there 50 d. Plus I have been to every Walton game this year play to your strengths to what point football is about change and attapting to what the other team gives you lloyd did that walton did not.
