Beechwood 61 Ludlow 13

The subs were sent in in the 2nd so the last 20 points or so were scored by them. Even the 3rd string QB got some minutes. That is good for the kids. Not sure what Vocke ended up with. I think 4 TDs on maybe 6-7 carries and I would guess 175 yards. Yanked in the 2nd quarter.

TOOOOO many injuries last night for the Tigers. Hope the best for those players !!

I did not understand why the ref's were not into the game more. I saw several late hit's by Ludlow that were never called last night in the first quarter. One cheap shot on Vocke afer catching a pass step out of bounds and a Ludlow defender plowed him down out of bounds. I hope the injured player's are okay and will return soon. Keep your heads up player's you will be fine. JD

Hope the injured players are ok!

#6 on Ludlow (Yates I think) did not care for Beechwood's Ecykmans finishing the play. Ecykmans was walking away and Yates went after him and hit him in the small of the back. This time the refs flagged him. It's probably hard for some of these teams to keep their cool when the score starts to get out of hand. No excuse though.

I am not saying Ludlow didn't do those things. I was not at this game, however I hate when people say stuff like this. I have seen many games with the likes of Beechwood or other top teams when they play teams not as good as them. And I have seen plenty of times when they too have had hits that very well could have been considered late or dirty. Just no one ever wants to say things like that about those teams, since they are the better team. It happens in football in every game on both sides, so I hate when people try to single out one team. I am sure there were probably a few times in the game yesterday when Beechwood did something too, that might have deserved a flag too that was not called. Beechwood won plain and simple and should leave it at that. Or else probably could get into a game long debate in any game that takes place that flags should have been thrown on.

There is a HUGE difference between finishing the play a little late or not being able to let up in time and deliberately turning around and going after someone. This was at someone who had their back turned and had ZERO chance to defend himself. I would have been upset with a BW player if they did that. The flag was thrown and I stated that.

If you noticed I didn't just quote yours. My point is what is even the use to putting it on here? That is good that they threw the flag there, but once again what is the point? It is taking away from the game itself and that is Beechwood won. Just to many times on here do I see teams who are just flat out better, try to point out well this team also hit a few of our guys late. When teams like that do the samething. In every football game on both sides, there are calls that could be called for late hits. So why point out specific ones on one team?

I would love to see Vocke's career stats against Ludlow.

You probably should want to see Vocke's career stats against every 1A team in the district, they will be very similar. A good chunck of his yards in his career has came against these teams.

Is anyone going to comment on the facemask where a Ludlow kid grabbed the mask of a Beechwood player so hard that he pulled the helmet off the kids head, launched it, and it landed, literally, 5 feet from the stands?
