Congratulations to the Rebels; I was undecided on going to this one or the Campbell County/Ryle game. Even with the rivalry, I'm not surprised with the turnout. Congratulations on winning the district as well. How long has it been since Owen County won a district? I remember someone posting on here the last time they finished with a winning record was 6-5 back in '91.

Correct. They lost in the first round of the playoffs to Madison High in 1978 and 1979, before breaking through in 1980 and beating Paris, before falling to Russellville in the state semifinals.

This Owen team has to be one of the better success stories going on in the state this year; hope things continue going well for these young guys.

I guess you're one of those that go by strength of schedule..... I don't know if you have seen them play, I have and from what I did see, they are capable of beating more teams than many are aware. Strength of schedule helps, but it is not always an indicator to overall team success.

You beat Western Hills by 6 points and you beat Grant Co. by 14 points, look at those schools and see who they have beaten? If I remember correctly, Grant Co. has lost to everyone by almost 40 points........And Western Hills, well they have given up almost 40 points a game....

You are talking about games that were played the second and fourth weeks of the season, things change a lot usually after that time. They have been nothing but impressive since their game against Western Hills.

Ok, I watched them this past weekend against Carroll County, Carroll County is not very good and it seemed like they struggled to move the ball against them... They are not very big, but I will give Adam credit, he does get the most out of his players, but his schemes are not very good and you can read exactly what he's going to do on offense most of the time.....

Congrats to Owen County on the win. Glad to see Coach Fowler and the Rebels are having a memorable season. Regardless of their schedule, they're winning the games they're supposed to win. The fact is when these boys gather at their High School reunions, they'll have great stories to tell and great memories to relive. With that being said, the best of luck to the Rebels going forward. Easy to rip a team's schedule with hindsight. Take it from a pre-season perspective and the Rebels scheduled at or above their class size in 4 of their 6 non-district games with Lloyd(2A), Grant(5A), Western Hills(3A), Bourbon(3A & likely to win seven games this year). Bellevue and Ludlow are the two remaining. Bellevue is consistently solid and coached by the last Owen County coach with a winning record in Croley and that district has typically beaten Owen in the past 20 years when they've faced off. Give the Rebs their due. They're winning games that they used to lose. THEY'RE WINNING!!! Going into the season their district was a toss up with Carroll, WV, OC and Gallatin. In the three OC has played they've outscored their opponents 110-19 with Gallatin this Friday.

Put no asterisk on this undefeated record. They've earned it.

This group of OC Seniors have now won more games this season than they have in their 3 previous seasons combined. They are winning their games...what more can you ask? Regardless of their schedule strength this season or in previous seasons, they have won every game they have played this season and are having the times of their lives...This is not something they have experienced before in their high school career and I think they will surprise a lot people in the play offs. Quit drinking your 'haterade' and let them enjoy their success.
