October 11, 201114 yr I have been checking on there a lot but I'm not sold on buying something like that on craigslist. I bought my setup on craigslist. It saved me about $400 as I got a stand too for a total of $100. The guy told me he used it once, and it looked like it. I took some scrap wood and a couple squares to make sure it wasn't knocked out of whack. Next to my table saw, it's the best tool purchase that I ever made. I use it almost weekly for various jobs around the house and all the remodels I've done over the years.

October 11, 201114 yr What about the differences with a sliding one and regular one? I can't decide which option I would like to have. With the sliding saw, once you have made the plunge cut into the board, you can then slide it out (like a radial arm saw) to make your cut longer. Gives you the ability to make a longer cut than you could make with a non-sliding miter saw.

I'll buy hand tools and small things all day long, but I'd stay far away from the power tools. They're cheap, which is appealing, but they're cheap for a reason.

I would personally never buy a power tool from Harbor Freight. I'll buy hand tools and small things all day long, but I'd stay far away from the power tools. They're cheap, which is appealing, but they're cheap for a reason. Yeah I have a few hand tools from there and you can tell it's cheap stuff. My wife got me a drill from there when we first got our house. It's pretty much crap, I went out and bought a Roybi which has worked well for me.

As CWB says, they have ones they are predisposed to push on customers.

Not saying it's definite but you never know with their tools. We have a small compressor and nail gun at work the warehouse uses to repair skids and it's worked fine for since we bought it about 2 years ago. But I've also seen their power tools go out after using them once.
