In regards to the parents not cooperating with police, they claim they were questioned for a long period of time and finally said enough is enough and left. The police then claimed they stop cooperating.

She failed a lie detector test and has said more than once she expects to be arrested really soon. I'm not sure what nefarious means, but I'm guessing these things are nefarious.

I understand that line of thinking. However, we all make judgements every day whether we know it or not. I sometimes put mine on BGP.
