Somerset 33 Pulaski County 20

Nice win for the Jumpers! Somerset was in control the majority of the game. Pulaski started to make it a game midway thru the 3rd quarter, as Somerset looked to be getting fatigued. But, the Jumper held off Pulaski's comeback and cruised to a 33-20 win. Pulaski has a nice team this year and should be competitive in 5A. Good luck to the Maroons the rest of the season. Somerset is off to a nice start with a 2-0 record. They have next week off which will be needed to heal some of the injuries. Next up Hazard.

Big win for the Briar Jumpers. Somerset dominated the majority of the game but 2 fumbles inside Pulaski's 15 yard line along with another around midfield kept the Briar Jumpers from putting 50 on the board. I'd say there will be some ball security drills at the Jumpers practices this week and next. Luckily, fumbles can be corrected. Pulaski has some very talented players and Smith is going to be a very nice quarterback but Somerset was faster and more physical on the line of scrimmage tonight.

Congratulations and I will be the first to admit I was wrong about this one. Thought PC would win. Coach Lucas has got to be one of the best coaches in the state. Amazing job he and the boys are doing.

Joe let me say this right now, whoever, Somerset plays next week I will take Somerset by at least three touchdowns. So don't accuse me of always picking against them :)

Thanks TM. We're off next week so we can probably cover that spread. The week after that however, we play Hazard at Hazard so we'll have our hands full.

Good Job by Jumpers. Is Somerset young, please explain. On way back from Pineville I listened to 2nd half of this game and they made a couple fumbles that is not tipical of the Somerset Teams in past couple years.

Two of the fumbles were on nice hits by Pulaski. One was when a Maroon got his helmet on the football while tackling the Somerset quarterback from behind as he was scrambling and getting ready to score. The other happened when a receiver got popped before he had a chance to tuck the ball into his body. The third was on a kick return and it was a strip on the way down. I'm biased but it looked like he was down. Somerset has 12 seniors, 9 of which play a lot. However, we graduated 19 from last season so we have some youngsters getting a lot of playing time.

GREAT CORRELL BOWL GAMES!!!

Atmosphere was great, fans were well behaved, for the most part. (Somerset Mascot was kinda attacked during game and not in a fun way)

Both games were fun to watch and weather was really nice once the sun dipped below the tree line.

My biggest question after last night is who wins when Pulaski and Southwestern play later this season.

I agree Somerset could have easily hung 50 on Pulaski but they didn't, give credit to Pulaski for forcing several key turnovers when they had to.

B/U QB Tanner Gadberry looked really good throwing the ball, showed a very strong and accurate arm tonight going 6-6 for over 100 yards.

Looking forward to more of the "Jack Rabbit" formation with both QB's in at once.

Tyler Jackson for Pulaski seemed to be in on every play, I bet his name was called 50 times on the P.A. on O and D.
