Ashland 58 Raceland 12

Featured Replies

Koudos to Ashland. We were dismantled with superior speed, talent, line play and strength. Our young team has never seen anything like it. Most have to remember that 1/3 of the guys on the field for us were playing middle school football last year. To make the transition from last year to what they were in Friday night resembles the Colosseum in Rome, only the Tomcats were lions and our guys were the Christians.

Excuses are just another way of saying "guys we didn't win tonight, but atleast they didn't score 60, whoot woo a moral victory" Ashland flat out stomped a mud hole in the Rams and they are not the team of Denton, the Swed, and Carver

I don't think any RAM fan on here thinks this team compares to the Denton, Carver or Swed team.

We all know that we got beat by a superior team in every way.. I think that DOC even said that.

Why are so angry. It says in the post you are replying to: The tomcats are the lions and our ram team are the christians. What did the lions do the christians in the arena??

Didn't hear one excuse!

What?

Excuses = 1/3 our team played middle school football last year.

Good luck this week. I believe you can win this game.

And Raceland will still probably go farther in the playoffs than most area teams...give it a rest Wing T.

Not one excuse from me. ( I guess we are use to winning more than 1 or 2 games a year though.) I was comparing the arena they played in, that wasn't an excuse. BTW, what does Denton, Carver and Big Swede have to do with anything? If you are going to conjure up 2008, at least make it make sense.

Hey Wing T, re-read the first 2 sentences (The bold and underlined comment). That my dear is a fact and not an excuse.

After reviewing my post, I must admit that I didn't write this clearly enough. I was referring to our young team's reaction to being overwhelmed by a superior team. Being a team that starts Freshmen and counting on them to produce on the Varsity level is asking a lot and they do get overtaken by the surroundings. But I still am taken aback by your comprehension of my post. Good luck this week against Boyd Co..

I guess when you want to be us, it is kinda scary to explore the possibilities of the near and distant future of Raceland Football. Just remember if you want to build a quality program, it's a marathon, not a sprint, and trying to do it over night is going to cost you. Every program that has been down in the area and tried to make it a success story over night has failed. You can't make tradition, pride, passion, and a fan base over night. You have to have real tradition, real pride, real passion, and a real fan base, not a band wagon approach. Why be a hater, some would probable get further, and would definitely get more respect, if they just said, "Hey they're good and we want to be like them", in stead of name calling and high school belittlement. We are all adults, not teenage players, and don't respond to such tactics.

This game has passed, The YOUNG Rams have learned from it and will only get better because of it. They have seen what a great team looks like and what it takes to play on a high level. Lesson learned. They will not forget it soon. All eyes are now firmly on Pikeville. Again Congratulations to Ashland I know you will have a great season.

Uh, yea, what he said.

Wing T .....I have no idea where you read any excuses. As a matter of fact had you been around for any length of time then I think that you would see that we can be pretty rough on our kids as well. Probably too tough on them at times. "1/3 played middle school" wasn't an excuse, it was the truth. No where did anyone say that was the reason or make any excuse other than the fact that were beaten by a bettter football team. I personally believe that an excuse is a loser's free pass.

I like your post on here but you got this one wrong. :thumb:
