Ashland only lost to Russell(2a champs), Rockcastle(semi-finalists) in the state of KY.

Ironton, OH Semi-Finals loss in OT to the Eventual Ohio Division 2 State Champs. The Tomcats had a great year!!! They also were in position to beat Ironton.

 

I also read that Newport High School only lost to state champions, though I am not sure who.

 

Newport lost to NCC 1A and Russell 2A

Mercer County only lost to Newport[42-35] and had 1 td called back and Russell at Russell [41-26].

 

Mercer lost to the public school from Newport. The catholic school from Newport won the 1A State Championships. I think you got them mixed up.

Warren Central lost to St. X and Bowling Green, two runners-up.

 

12-0 against competition that wasn't in the state championship game....

Happened to my team 3 of 4 years I played, in the first round no doubt. Atleast we got beat by the eventual state champs.

This is the second one loss season in school history (This was only our 25th year of football). The previous one was 2002 when our only loss was to Boyle Co., who was the champion that year.
