Congratulations Walton-Verona M.S. Bearcats

Featured Replies

The Bearcats tallied up another big win tonight, beating the Cooper Jags 20-6! Walton-Verona got some awesome runs by Robert Lyle, Jared Poore and several other players to seal the deal. Lyle is amazing -- runs like a bullet, and just bulls his way through a crowd to get the extra yards. Also saw some big time plays by Tyler Townsend, Garret Lehkamp, Halsey Page, Nick Carter and many more. These guys are going to be fun to watch over the next several years. The Bearcats will take their perfect 4-0 record into this Saturday's battle with Bowling M.S. in Owenton.

The Rebels handed the Bearcats their first loss with a 30-6 victory. Mason Borchers had a a huge game for the Rebels and Carson Williams was very hard to stop. The Rebels also defeated Frankfort 42-36 in overtime. The Panthers were also undefeated and had yet to be scored on before they took on Bowling Middle (Owen County).

I heard about Owen County. They have a kid running the ball who is like 6' 6" or something like that. Heard he might be a bit more mature than the other kids.

Actually he is 6'4" . He is mature for his age but he is in the correct grade (8th) for his age which is 13. Several kids older than him on the field.

The kid is also very good basketball player..

Heard the WV coach did not want his players to shake hands with the GC players after the game? Heard this from a WV parent.

I VERY seriously doubt that is true.

Why would that be? Was there a problem during the game that the coach thought might escalate during the handshakes?

Good sources tell me otherwise. But, I also heard some things that lead me to believe that he did so with good reason.

Yeah, I think so from what I heard.

Early reports from the Walton-Verona Sports Complex have the Bearcats leading Owen County 6-0 in the first quarter. The score came on a 3-yard touchdown plunge by running back, Garret Lehkamp. I believe this is Garret's first game back at that position since his ugly, season-ending injury, three years ago. :thumb:

GO BEARCATS!!!
