  1. 1. Which team will win?

Riverdale is a perennial power in Tn. They were one of the Div 1 6a favorites last year, but, got upset by Oak Ridge in the Quarter finals. They finished 9-4 last year but there 4 losses were to some quality teams. They return 14 starters from last years team, 7 on both sides of the ball and expect big things this year. They're a wing T team that'll run the ball about 75% of the time, but, can throw it if they have too and there QB is one of the returnees. They aren't real big on the line, but, are quick and they have good overall team speed. They defeated Brighton, another D1 6a Memphis area team last week, 49-6 and Brighton is coming off a 9-2 season with 18 returning starters and are the favorites to come out of there district this year, albeit, a weak overall 6a district. Riverdales kicker is a good one. Can easily hit FGs from 40 yds and capable of 50+ yard ones. His kickoffs will likely result in touchbacks, so, he's a good weapon for them. There defense gave up 23 pts a game last year, so, if they have a weakness its against teams that can line up and go straight at em, as there secondary and LBs are pretty solid. I believe this will play into St Xs hands. It'll likely come down to Riverdales quickness vs St X size and strength on the lines. Whoever wins that battle, should win the game. They're preseason #3 team in 6a.

the 4-2-5 is X's base defense and X's defense can match the speed with that of Riverdale's. The Rd Dline versus the X Oline will be a good battle. X's biggest olineman is about 6'1 280 lbs and Riverdale has a nose tackle who is 6'1 301 and a dt that is 5'8 278 lbs.

The 4-2-5 is a defense designed to stop a spread offense attack. I assume meant to contain Trinity and other schools that run the spread. The weakness of a 4-2-5 is against a strong/power rushing attack. Not sure how effective that will be vs a wing T. We shall see.

X probably will not run the 4-2-5 tonight. Also, I have heard that they are just about ready to scrap it anyway. Too many botched assignmens. Brando Moore is back healthy again, so now we have two of our three tailbacks healthy and ready. Clemons doubtful still nursing high ankle sprain. He will dress, however.
