Cash for clunkers which several of you right wingers took advantage of along with government intervention helped save an American auto manufacturer and untolled amount of jobs. So knock it all you want but tax payers came out ahead as well as the American workers on cash for clunkers and the GM deal. Bush didn't support anything Green but he had no trouble with jobs going to China. Drilling for oil in Alaska does nothing to reduce dependence on oil or the cost of gas and only harms the environment. Thank God for that difference. However Obama signed a bill with a provision to expand concealed carry rights and has proposed no legislation that would have any impact on 2nd amendment rights. So I'm still waiting for the facts from you wingnuts.

You insult and ask for facts but really give none in your post. There's no proof CARS did anything to save auto manufacturers. The fact is there is no proof that most of the cars sold under CARS wouldn't have been sold anyway.

bad thing is the money illegals make goes back to Mexico and their and very little spent in USA. So we are just supporting Mexico business and not our merchants who pay taxes, etc.

Edmunds projected 2009 would end with 10.8 million cars sold and it ended with 10.4 million sold. How does that mean it worked? I think you need a little bit better source then the whitehouses website touting their own program.

This sounds entirely counterintuitive.

 

Even one gallon produced domestically reduces our dependence on that same gallon of "foreign" oil... I know you didn't specify "foreign" oil, but that is a significant distinctive to me.

 

Controlling our own natural resources and output would seem to place commodity prices more in our hands and less in the hands of those with no regard for what is beneficial to America.
