World Series Trivia Question

I learned the other night that the Pirates are up there pretty good. Maybe 5th?

Well they obviously won 2 in the 70's, and I know from my uncle that they beat the Yankees sometime in the early 60's when Danny Murtaugh was the manager. He used to talk about talking with Danny Murtaugh in a downtown Cincinnati hotel, and what a nice guy he was.

I say A's are 3rd and Dodgers 5th.

Correct. The A's are 3rd, the Dodgers are tied for 5th with the Giants.

If they win it this year they'll be on this list.:D

They actually have five titles, same as the Reds. Those two are tied for 7th.

Yes. Maybe 5, not 5th. It shocked me that they had more than 3.

Are the Dodgets 5th?

Yes, two in the '70s (1971 and 1979 - both against Baltimore)

1960 they beat the Yankees on Bill Mazeroski's walk-off home run.

And don't forget the 1909 win with Honus Wagner and the 1925 win with Pie Traynor!
