Well, my God is better than yours because you don't believe in one. Secondly, I was making a joke considering the posts regarding the mosque and ground zero. You know what? Here's what I believe bottom line about Christianity and our country. We have ordained in our constitution the freedom of religion, and we've bled that over the centuries to morph into something that I believe is far from what our founding fathers coined as "freedom of religion". Atheists like yourself, or those who proclaim there's no god until a tragedy strikes ala 9/11 and then many are "converted", seem to be awfully sensitive on what you deem your rights being trampled. Again, if I don't believe in Santa Claus, why in the flip would I care if someone dressed up like one? Or heaven forbid, a government official was on the clock in a red suit and beard somewhere around the end of December? Same issue, tax dollars supporting something I simply don't believe in.

I would like to see statistics supporting your assertion that "many are 'converted'" after a tragedy. To think that I shouldn't care where my tax dollars go or if the constitution is trampled on reeks of arrogance and is simply laughable. But like I said here:

 

As for this thread. As an athiest, if the government isn't paying for the cross than I could personally care less. If solely funded by private money you can make the thing 1000ft tall and I'm not going to complain.

As for Christians as a whole, most are reasonable (a lot of examples in this thread), though with all large groups some are not. Atheist aren't excused from this.

Not at all, I don't mind being called out. Intolerance for anything not Christian, a self-absorbed view of how people should think, and just general close-mindedness is not being reasonable in what I believe to be reasonable. Tolerance, acceptance, willingness to consider how others might think, feel, or believe is reasonable to me.

Closed minded. Really? The irony is that is exactly what I feel the 1st post is all about. Nothing more than raising a stink over something that they don't believe in anyway. Let's just say for argument sake that you're view of eternity is right. Then we both end up worm food, nothing more. If I'm right however, lake of fire for you with the whole gnashing of teeth thing.
