Their pitching is also very good. Cinnamon has not pitched in Dist. or State tournaments so that should tell you how deep the staff is. To win the region I think they have to have him back though.

Kentucky was moved to a different regional this year. Paducah has played in both regionals at different times and the competition in the Mid-South (Arkansas, Texas, Oklahoma, Missouri, etc.) generally seems to be a little better. Paducah has made the World Series twice since 2000 and both times came out of the Great Lakes.

 

For Danville, the Great Lakes could be very winnable. Best of luck to them. In my exposure to them, they've been a very good team and Morse seems like a good guy. He's obviously built a very good program there.

The Danville Mustangs scored 66 runs in 4 games and gave up 26 runs in 4 games. Even with the sticks they have they will have to have much better pitching than that to compete in Regionals.

11 of those 26 came in the final game were it didn't really matter because they had already put up 21 of their own. They will also most likely have their best pitcher back (Clay Cinnamon) for the Regional. Cinnamon did not throw a pitch at the State Tournament.

I hate to disagree but 9 of Lexingtons 11 came in first 3 innings and we were behind 9-8 going into the 4th inning.

Mustangs won their first round game against Lacrosse Wisconsin 3-1. They advance to the second round today and play Rock Island, Il at 5pm.

Mustang are one of 3 teams left in Michigan super regional. Play Midland Michigan at 7 pm sunday and then would have to beat Ohio tomorrow.
