7 on 7 schedules in NKy?

Featured Replies

From what I saw, Ryle had an even mix of dumping the ball and throwing down field and a much more realistic release time from the snap. Clyde is right so that's all my comments about 7 on 7 for the year. Good luck to all teams as they work hard to get ready for the season.

What I take from 7-on-7 is the QBs arm strength - ability to throw the out. His touch - ability to throw deep or the fade. His decision-making(somewhat).

I believe Newport and Beechwood play today. Not sure what time.

How did it go? Any report.

SK plays at Bryan Station Saturday morning.

Here's a few issues I have with placing much value in 7-on-7s.

No rush.

No visual distractions from the O and D lines.

No worry from the D about play action or the qb running.

QB forced to pass on plays where there is nothing which would have resulted in a scramble.

DBs playing so far off the ball.

WR's not having to worry about being hit while making a catch.

DBs not having to worry about making a tackle.

Besides that it's a great way to see what team is better than the other.

Another negative that is even worse is allowing the offense to go way past the 4 count. Defenses sometimes do a good job for about 6 seconds then things start to break down and they wind up getting scored on. One out of 5 recievers is going to get open if they delay the count.
