There's nothing like Vegas, I lost a ton of money out there in December but it was still a lot of fun.

Last night, sitting at Yard House watching the game. Passed Rick Pitino at the bellagio this afternoon. Have lost a ton of money but have definitely spent a ton. Have had a blast but ready to get home and see my kids.

I actually flew back from Vegas on the same plane as Ricky P. a few years ago.

Heading back to Vegas after a 7 year hiatis. Flying from Dayton to Clevelend, Cleveland to Vegas. Staying at the Luxor.

Super PUMPED!!! :ylsuper::ylsuper:

Have fun, I think I am going back last week or so in July.

Am I the only one who has been to Vegas and can't see what the big deal is?

I had a good time but way way way over priced.

May I ask what you think is overpriced? The high end stuff is, like big name shows, fancy rooms, trendy clubs and restaurants. But if don't go crazy on high end stuff, gambling wins and losses should be all spend big bucks on after your flight.

If you stay on or do anything on or near the strip it's overpriced. You can't get a beer for less then $5 or a mixed drink for less then $10 unless you are grambling. Even then a man would die of thrist waiting for the waitress to come around. The cabs over charge so unless you get a car and drive where you want to go you spend a fortune on cabs. If you don't drink that isn't a big deal, you can just rent a car and drine where you want to go.

I will say though the guys I went with didn't go cheap expect for the room so my view is probably skewed a little. What do you normally do when you go, other then gambling? Where do you stay and do for entertainment?

By far my favorite destination however now that gambling is legal in half of the states I could agree with that argument. The reason I love it is you can have any kind of vacation there you want. If you want to buy beer at a store and sit by a pool all day you can. If you want world class food and shows its there. Live music or great comedians? Check. I despise sandy beaches and love to gamble so it a great spot for me.

I agree cabs are overpriced, especially now that gas prices have gone so high. But we usually stay/play in the middle of the strip Ceasar's/Flamingo. We gamble at those places as well as Bill's, O'Shae's, IP. During pool season we hit the pools after breakfast, awesome scenery! Charge all your drinks to your room and they will usually comp them if you gamble with a player's card when you check out. We usually don't get too crazy at lunch, jut something small maybe a food court type lunch. Dinner usually somewhere nice, but I expect to pay a little on vacation. I am pretty much past the club scene at this time of my life, so I don't hit the bars in Vegas. If you are gambling and tip your waitress a little they will make sure have plenty to drink. Try playing blackjack at the Flamingo Party Pit and see how fast they bring beers to you. Ellis Island is a local place a couple of blocks behind Flamingo and is dirt cheap for breakfast and Steaks.

We stayed at IP so the room didn't set us back much. It's a dump but cheap and on the strip. Like I said my perception may be off because they guys I went with didn't go cheap (except the room). Basically everything we did was expensive. If I go back I would probably do somethings differently so it would be cheaper.

If you stayed and gambled at IP with Harrah's card you should never have to pay for a room there again.

I didn't but my brother. I didn't have a card and gambled very little. The trip was last minute for me and I didn't really have time to plan for it so wasn't able to take a ton of money. We have too family vacations this year and our money was already allocated to those. I took enough to have a good time but not to gamble a ton. I think I did find a new casino favorite though in craps.
