May 13, 201115 yr He was one of few transfers during the Rupp era. He had the game sealing steal vs. Elgin Baylor's team in the '58 NCAA title game. As the story goes, he was the backcourt mate of the Big O for the Cincy Royals and Cincy was hosting the game. Somebody had an emergency at the last minute and could not make the game, so he filled in. Back in those days, MVP was given a convertible and last I heard he was still living in Cincy area, retired from banking and still had that car in his garage with very low miles on it.

I read an article recently about him and, yes, he still has the car. Lives in Anderson.
