High Schools/Football/Athletic Trainers

PBS had a documentary about high school football. One part that caught my attention was the number of schools that do not have certified athletic trainers at all practices and games.

I believe that most if not all of the NKY high schools have trainers present at all times.

I am the team doctor for our team but am not on sight for all practice activities. I am on the sidelines for the games.

Earlier in this thread I made the statement that I would guess that less then a quarter of all football playing school in KY had trainers so I put this project together. From the KHSAA website I have compiled a list of all football schools and whether or not (to my knowledge) they have a FULL TIME, CERTIFIED TRAINER to cover practices and games. As you can see there are lots of gaps in my knowledge. If you know for sure that a school I have left blank has a FULL TIME, CERTIFIED TRAINER for practices and game please let me know and I will update my list. Please make sure you're not including coaches or other adults who are carrying out the role of a trainer but are not certified. Also do not include schools that have a trainer or doctor that is present for games only, or only a few times during the week. Thanks. I'll start with 6-A
