B2R, no love for Demarcus Van Dyke, CB Miami (Fla.) the fastest player in the draft 4.28 in the 40?

Not in round 3. I like DVD because he's a Cane but he's just fast IMO. He's not great at playing the ball in the air, doesn't have great coverage skills (hips IMO), and is not a strong tackler. But with the success Sam Shields had this season maybe he'll be better in the NFL than he was at the U.

He is another guy that is small. He was at 178 today. Can you trust this guy to tackle RBs, TEs or big WRs in space? He didn't show a propensity for that at the U. He did not show the skills to contribute on special teams as a gunner or coverage guy with his tackling ability. With his speed, he did not return kicks or punts to my knowledge. I do not know if I can ask him to do that in the league. He did not show a big play ability to force turnovers (only 3 picks in 4 years and he was thrown at)- I even believe Miami demoted him to their nickel guy (Cats will correct me if I am wrong). If I am going to take a shot at this guy, it is in round seven. I have him ranked in the 300's. This is only because of his lights out speed.

Nope, you're right on all accounts IMO :thumb:. But think about this DVD ran the third fastest time in the 40 in the 2000s, and he was only the 3rd fastest guy at Miami last year behind Travis Benjamin and Lamar Miller. TB has horrible hands but I think he could set the combine record next year, other than the fact that I think Jeff Demps will have a faster time.
