Lewis County 51 Greenup County 48

I did alittle research on Mr. March. Since 2002-2003 Mr. March has a record in March of 10 wins 11 losses. During this period he has 2 district championships and 0 regional championships. Before his runnerup finish 2 years ago his record was 5-7. So please tell me again why he is called "Mr. March".

10 wins and 11 losses is not that bad when you consider Lewis is not a basketball power house. Year in and year out I would think they are probably always in the lower half of teams in the region in overall talent. Which year since 2002 has Lewis disappointed you in March? To me they have always lived up to expectations at a minimum, and often surpass them.

OK I get it, well sort of. Do you guys realize that Lewis Co. has more male students than 7 other schools in the region? Rose Hill, Fairview, West, Elliott, Morgan, Raceland, Menifee, Bath all have fewer male students. Correct?

Lewis plays 3A in football and I don't think have ever qualified for the All-A basketball tourney and I believe everybody you mentioned has, so I would guess you are correct without doing any research. I would also think Russell would have less students than Lewis.

And that may be one of the strangest games I've ever been to. Pop bottle thrown out of the stands after a terrible call against Greenup (and yes, it was awful but that's no excuse). Horn blows in the middle of play and the kids all stand there. So do the officials and Williams rips the ball out and goes down and gets hammered at the basket, all to no avail. Greenup fan stands up and yells at the head coach and then begins to scream at Dunaway for hiring him. Just a wierd basketball atmosphere. More like a circus. Congratulations to Lewis Co on another regional appearance.

I hate that kind of crap happened at the game. I wasn't there, don't know who it was but that doesn't matter. Whoever it was had just embarrased the school, any true fans of high school basketball and probably the kids/platers on the team. All classless actions lke that proves is who the idiots that shouldn't be at the game, any h.s. game are. The real sad thing is that it doesn't suprise me. I will refrain from saying why on here. Alot of people know what I am talking about anyway.

Congrats to Lewis County on the win!! :thumb:

Mr. March rolls on.

.

It's still Febuary......:sssh::D. Now, if you are talking about Lewis in the post season he does have them ready to play come district tourney time, Mr. District maybe, they rarely advance any games at all in the regional.

Time the "like sands through the hourglass........" image is brought in. This was a promising group of seniors, some quit prior to the season, at GC. I'll never figure why they don't want better in Lloyd............oh well.

Looks like things are exactly the same as always....."too many chiefs and not enough indians" type of thing "ones that you think might be idiots open their mouth and remove all doubt" :D. JMO

I'm not anywhere close to knowing what is going on at Greenup. But as an outsider looking in, what decent coach would even consider the Greenup job???

I certainly agree, GC could be one of the better if not the best job in our part of the state but the way things go it is the worst for a coach.

What is so wrong at Greenup? Is the school system big? How is the area to live in,etc.? Have no idea, also as an outsider, but they are always having problems there it seems. Anyone know?
There are imo so many problems with the entire school system and athletics that it is too many to count.

I hope they can continue to keep the baseball on it's good level along with the GCHS cheerleding...the cheerleaders are a source of pride for that school system and have been for years and years.

Perhaps the, "four coaches in four years", problem is not the coaches fault. Sounds like it is the schools fault ? I don't know the kids but I would not wish that on any young man.
:thumb: Nailed it.

I will say that I am not big on parents transferring kids out of a school system just for the sake of doing it but I will also say that if I had a kid in the GCHS system now that I would be looking at transferring.

OK I get it, well sort of. Do you guys realize that Lewis Co. has more male students than 7 other schools in the region? Rose Hill, Fairview, West, Elliott, Morgan, Raceland, Menifee, Bath all have fewer male students. Correct?

School size has nothing to do with the type of athletes they have. Tyler Clark and a few others have been really good basketball players for Lewis but when was the last time they have had the type of athletes that have came through many of those schools you mentioned?
