No, not really. It's a very small sample size and most of the responses suggested that, although they weren't going to buy a formal package, they would attend 20+ games.

 

11 people responded. 4 people answered yes. They're buying a 4 pack (if that counts), a 20 game pack, a weekend package, and the entire season tickets package.

 

Of the 7 who responded no, 1 was not even a Reds fan (formerkywrestler), and he'll go to 2-3. Of the remaining 6 members who said no, about 3 of them said that they plan on going to more games than last year, which was a double-digit number.

The increase thus far is a little bit better than I expected. Making a 20 game commitment is a BIG commitment (in terms of both money & time), especially when many think that they can pick random nights and buy $5 or $7 tickets.

For clarification, I usually end up at 5-10 games a year. When I go up to Cincy it's for three days so I generally go to every game when I'm there. My best friend lives on Main Strausse in Covington and my old college roommate is a huge Reds fan who lives in EKY so I really only see him at games. This year both of those guys are getting some kind of season package (neither have had one before) so I expect to attend at the very least, my usual amount of games.

Totally agree about Phillips. I think he's the most easily replaced "big name" on the roster.

The 20 game packages are dirt cheap. $202 for 20 games. Can't beat that deal.

 

It is a good deal. But these days its tough to commit to 200 bucks at once (insurance is killing me from knee surgery). Especially considering I had the hookup last year. Don't think I'll have it this year.

It is very hard for me to commit for several reasons, but I will watch/listen to almost all the games. If I lived close I would have the full season for sure.

Ugh, I just looked up the schedule and the Marlins come into town uncharacteristically early this year. The problem is, it's the same weekend as the Derby Mini which I am most likely running and my Mother is for sure. To make it even more of a bad time, it may also be the weekend my nephew's 1st birthday will be celebrated. Looks like I may only get to go to the Sunday game...at best. :madman::madman::madman:

I wanted to start something similar. It would be ideal if a group of people bought 4 season tickets and we could have a "draft night" where people selected their games. Once you get your tickets, you're free to trade / barter or do whatever. The key would be that the cost of the season tickets would be split by 4.

 

I have done that with my season tickets the last 4 years because I honestly can't go to 81 games myself. I have several folks who take 12-15 games each and others who take anywhere from 6-8 games. I usually go to anywhere from 20-30 myself. We meet in March and draft the games and it works out pretty good. The tickets are usually about $5 cheaper when you buy them as a season package and with the season package you get other benefits as well. Worth looking into.
