Wow! I thought about going to this one but passed. My mistake.

 

This has to be the highest scoring game in NKY this year - boys or girls.

Credit to both teams. This game went back and forth the entire contest. Both teams were victim of some questionable calls. I think someone mentioned 80 something free throws in the game.

 

Kez Murphy has the Lady Indians playing very well. The Pandas finally pulled away in the 2nd Overtime.

There is nothing that I can personally do about it, but as someone who works with the school, I sincerely apologize. I would think it would be a requirement by now and I actually have never noticed it not being accessible until I read this. I mean we have ramps going up to the doors of the Activity Center, but no ramps leading to the gym. I will bring that up at the next Booster's Meeting and see if that is something we can get done.

I echo the same sentiments that Statman has already said. Hopefully something can get done to make the Activity Center wheelchair accessible very soon. I was in the lobby when they tried using the ramps to get up to the gym but could only get up the first flight of steps. Apologies to the Dad and the young lady who scored her first varsity point.

There are (were) temp metal ramps that they have used in the past. However, they are a pain as I have witnessed and it is unclear where they are kept. I know a dad from St. Henry used them successfully last season.

 

But a better solution is needed.

Hard to believe a school has an unaccessible area. Sounds like Statman is on it and I hope he gets it resolved because I know he is sincere and will do whatever he can.

 

Congrats to both teams on a grand effort and I regret I couldn't be there to see this intense game. I had the pleasure of watching the Cooper Villa JV boys mismatch, but I did get good pictures of my son.

Kentonman - They tried using the temp metal ramps last night and again, were able to get him up the first flight of steps using them but for some reason they either couldn't or decided not to try and attempt the 2nd flight to the gym.

 

As far as the game, it was an excited hard fought game. HC with a critical "dead ball" out of bounds miscue at the end of the first overtime with the score tied and 10 seconds left that would have given them a chance to win the game. After a dead ball and time out, HC could not run the baseline however, setup a play that passed the ball to another girl out of bounds and then back in. It was an obvious violation and ND got the ball.

 

Not the best played or called game, but very exciting finish. These 2 teams battles hard and should likely play in the district final as well.

Congrats to Sydney Schuler of NDA for scoring her first Varsity points in this game. She should continue to help the Pandas for the rest of this season and the next 2 years!!
