Just goes to show how impressive Sonnen's performance really was, juiced up or not.

 

Sonnen was juicing, Silva was hurt, and Sonnen had the perfect game plan.

Only bc Belfort misread the kick, thought it was going to his mid section, tensed up and leaned forwards right into it. The kick was solid but Belfort's reaction to it is was cost him IMO.

 

Like someone else has already implied, generally you don't see a KO coming, otherwise you would react differently to it.

I really don't get the dislike for Anderson Silva. I thought MMA fans wanted to see highlight reel finishes, and there's never been anyone better than Silva in that department. He's easily the #1 guy on my list to watch. I'd pay the $45 if he was the only fight on the card.

I fully agree. My favorite MMA fighter for sure. Also, Jones, Aldo, and Shogun are all way up there for the same reason.

If Silva wasn't hurt, I believe the fight could have been a lot different. Either way, Silva's comeback in that fight was amazing considering how bad he got beat through the first four rounds.

If any I would say no more than a little; I wouldn't be surprised at all to see Jones beat Shogun. Shogun has a lot of experience, but Jones fighting techniques and strategies will be tough for Shogun to defend.

Personally I think it could be an advantage. He's already in fighting condition because of this last fight. Now all he has to do is keep the conditioning up, and study Shogun's tendencies a bit.

I don't think it will be. Like HB20 said, he's already in condition and he didn't suffer any damage in the Bader fight. All he has to do is keep training for a few more weeks and try to come up with a game plan for Shogun.

 

I don't see this having a big affect on the fight. Shogun will train as he normally would. The biggest thing is whether Shogun is at 100% coming off the injury to his knee. We won't know that until fight night.

That's the million dollar question. If Shogun is 100% I think I would put him as a slight favorite. He is so aggressive, a very good striker, and has experience with "championship rounds" that Jones doesn't have yet.

I'm leaning toward Jones at the moment. But, I don't think anyone will be surprised how this turns out, including me.
