Of course, we are only talking Varsity basketball here. Conner has won more than their fair share in other sports and different levels. It is my opinion that the pendulum will be swinging back to Conner in basketball soon. They have a group coming up that won over 90 games in middle school. In the end, I do believe the rivalry will stay strong for years to come. Looking forward to the Conner/Boone football opener in August. Great way to get the season started.

Good point, Roman. And of course, I was only referring to varsity basketball at this time. I do see very good things in the future for Conner, as they have had some very good success at the middle school and JV levels (I believe their JV team is 14-1 this year). Of course, Ockerman has a strong 8th grade class, too, so this should set up for some very competitve games for years to come!

I agree that Conner has a bright future on the hardwood... Unfortunately, their present team has been unable to beat Boone for quite some time. I see the Rebels and Brown being too much for the Cougars tonight. But who knows, maybe Coach Hicks has his team playing like they are capable of and if that's the case, Conner can beat anyone in NKY.

Anyone know what the seeding will be in the 33rd tourney with a Conner victory? Had heard they could get the #1 seed with a win, anyone???

I'm not sure what the tiebreaker system is, but I don't see how they can get a #1 seed with 2 losses to Ryle and one loss already to Boone. Boone still has not lost a district game either. If Boone were to lose tonight, and potentially drop a game to Ryle and Cooper it would be tight up at the top, but I don't see that happening.

You don't play 90 games in middle school. Even throughought your 3 years. If anyone has a good set of middle school kids coming up it's Boone. Ockerman's 8th grade team has lost 3 total games out of all 3 years there. All 3 losses being this year, with there star player out for the season. Not so sure how you see Conner's middle school program helping out the high school.

According to this years schedule they play 27 games and that does not include the tournaments.

Not going to get into a debate with someone who simply does not know the facts. You are obviously oblivious to what is going on in Hebron. We will just have to wait and see now won't we……………….

Thanks for the information. I thought it sounded a little off when I heard it. Keep in mind that the first loss to Ryle was not a seeding game.

Was the earlier loss to Boone a district seed game?

I helped coach an 8th grade team that played 50 in one year (too many).

If there is a 3-way tie for a seed the 33rd has decided to do a blind draw amongst those 3 teams.
