Final from NKU.

 

Bracken jumped out early with a 19-8 lead after 1st quarter. But in the 2nd, Deming utilized a full-court press that gave Bracken fits. Polar Bears score only 5 points in the 2nd & lead trimmed to just 2 points at the half.

 

Deming really took control in the 3rd quarter, while Bracken continued to struggle offensively (scored just 7 points in 3rd quarter to follow up the 5 scored in the 2nd). Bears did cut it to 3 points at one time, but Deming hit free throws down the stretch to pull away.

 

Makes the third time Deming has beaten Bracken--once in Mt. Olivet, once in Brooksville, & once on a neutral floor. Just a better team this year. I look for the Devils to make a run come March Madness time.

 

Congrats to both teams & good luck to Deming in the finals!

Very good game. The press seemed like it really gave Bracken Co problems. Alot of quick 3's tonight for Bracken Co seemed like they took to many 3's in my view.

Big crowd, great atmosphere!

 

Demins plays well as a team. Each of the five starters scored double figures tonight and their leading scorer was someone not named King.

Calvin Schalch led the Devils with 17 points. Jonathan Caldwell put up 11, King and King, Inc. put up 10 each, and Johnathan Pilosky added 10.

Scary if they get this type of team production in the finals on Sunday.

It helps when you have a team that consist primarily of seniors with significant varsity experience. I think (I hope) they win it this year......
