Charlie Rogers did not score, but played a great defensive game.

Wow!! And without our leading scorer/defender in Cory Rogers. Jaylan was awsome tonight on both ends of the court. Zollo fouls out with 3:56 to go and Purvis fouls out with 3:27 to go. Our bench really stepped up tonight. Fatkin, and Charlie Rogers played both ends of the court as best as I have seen them play. Bopper Stenzel did a great job at PG in handling the ball, stats that don't show up in the score book but are valuable to the success of the team.

I didn't think we would win this game going in, sure didn't think we would win by 16. GRC led by as many as 22.

Way to go Cards!!!!

Fant had 22 and Shanklin had 16 according to the radio announcers.

Great win for the Cards! Called it in the prediction thread - Jayln Daniels with a HUGE game tonight! Another bright star was Charlie Rogers - he played an awesome defensive game and really did a good job guarding Fant; who is AWESOME.

Whole teams defense looked really impressive against a quick WC team. Adam Fatkin also had some quality minutes tonight. He has a bright future for GRC.

Looks like the trip to the Beach Ball Classic over the break is paying HUGE dividends for the Cardinals.

The past two games have shown a lot about Central, primarily in the disappearance of the supporting cast. It's not the big names that make the difference when you have only 1-2 of them, it's the other guys. When you have 38 from two guys and a combined 21 from the rest with no one scoring more than 4, you're going to lose almost every time. Vic Smith and Halsel in particular are guys that the Dragons need to step up, and right now the production just isn't there.

A very good showing by GRC. Charlie Rogers and Adam Fatkin had great games of the bench. The improved guard and bench play could make this very special year for the Cards. Jaylan Daniel had a big time game scoring from the outside and the paint.

You are so right. I posted in another thread that GRC really grew as a team at the beachball. Besides the beachball, GRC has a brutal schedule this year. Will only pay off come post season.

Warren Central threw several presses at us tonight and we had no problems with them and usually got some easy buckets. Our defense was great tonight,We still need to cut down on our turnovers.

I would imagine that this two game stretch would sting for Dragon fans, but to put it in perspective, they've played two very good teams on consecutive days. Last night they hosted Bowling Green in a district rivalry game, and then had to turn around and play George Rogers Clark on their home court at an earlier than normal start time. While stretches like this are certainly tough, I would say that there's a good chance that they will pay off in the long run.

Has either Daniel or Purvis signed or committed to a college yet or had interest from any?
