It was a well-called game. What calls didn't you like?

 

They certainly didn't decide the game as Conner is the better team but in the 2nd quarter there seemed to be about 4 in a row. A travel call where the Cooper player lost control of the ball while in the air but never even came down with it when the whistle blew for travel. The intentional foul was a joke as the Cooper player clearly made a play on the ball and although he fouled him across the arms, that shouldn't have been call intentional and the "older" ref even came over to discuss it with the ref that called it but let it go. There was a clear charge on the Conner player driving the lane, IMO. I will also say there were a couple of blocks that Conner had that looked clean but they were called fouls.

 

I don't have a kid playing so that was just the observation of a group of us watching had.

I believe that refs already decide the game before they even step out on the court. It's sad when they call a foul on your player and he is not even in the game yet!!!!!!! They won't admit it, but they know who they are looking to foul!!!!

That is the most rediculous statement I have ever heard. Period.

Being a high school basketball ref has to be the worst job in the world. What other job can you work where the pay is low and you make half the people that see you work get angry at you, and compelled to yell at you, insult you, call you names, and have the belief that almost anyone else in the building could do a better job than you. Basketball is easily the toughest sport to officiate, and for the most part I think the refs do a decent job. Yes, there are some bad ones, and even the good ones sometimes miss a call. But to insinuate that refs collude to predetermine game outcomes is ridiculous. I'd like to see the loudest biggest complainers put a striped shirt on and pick up a whistle and try to call a game. If you don't like the quality of refs...do something about it...get certified and become a ref. Some of the behavior and comments I've seen at games from fans towards refs is just plain rude and uncalled for. And middle school and elementary school games are even worse than high

school games.

One of the better Refs in NKY I think is James Pounce...

I Agree 100%! Too many things to list at this point on how good he is, but, when I am coaching spring/summer ball and I see him as a ref, I know I have one of the top refs not only in NKY, but the state!

I was at a Cooper game two years ago when they played Carroll Co. I think it was the JV game, I forget the refs but I remember they were very good.
