December 6, 201015 yr FC and SSC you guys are too much. Manning struggles for 3 or 4 games and it suddenly justifies all of your previous points. Get back at me at the end of the season or especially this time next year and make this same reldiculous point to justify your guys love affair with Carson Palmer. Not saying I disagree with you, but this year that's going to come a lot sooner for Peyton and his Colts. And I'm loving every single minute of it!

Get back at me at the end of the season or especially this time next year and make this same reldiculous point to justify your guys love affair with Carson Palmer. Nice one. I don't love Palmer I'm just not throwing the blame his way when he has a terrible head coach, a terrible OC, a below average to terrible line, two rookie targets that are his 3rd and 4th options one of which didn't play in college last year, and his top two targets are both old as far as receivers go and neither of them were at practice all summer. None of that is as bad as his scouting staff, medical staff, or owner. Greatness has a lot to do with luck. He was unlucky to get drafted by Mike Brown. No matter how much you or anyone else say he's bad I'll continue to believe he isn't close to their first problem that needs addressed. If they draft Luck or Mallett it will be more of the same except with less help than Palmer had when he started here.

I've not seen one person on here say that Palmer is the only problem for the Bengals and that if someone else went in they would magically become Super Bowl favorites. Not one person......

All I know is playing QB in the NFL isn't easy. You are the one who says it's an excuse to mention other reasons Palmer may not be successful. My point is even Manning is horrendous right now because of bad line play, receivers in the wrong spot, and very questionable decision making. I guess I'm just so tired of Mike Brown that it drives me crazy when people blame the only successful QB ever under the idiot owner. I don't even think Palmer is that good any more. I just refuse to blame him for their failures because no matter what he did more than anyone ever has under this dumb dumb. I really hope they're smart enough to start drafting line help on both lines, but why would they do anything smart?

But as good QBs continue to come into the league, Palmer looks worse every season. With the success of guys like Ryan, Sanchez, Bradford, etc. shouldn't the Bengals want more from their QB? It's the most important position on the field and a great one can make up for problems elsewhere. Manning is struggling right now, but he will pick it back up soon I believe which is what separates the really good QBs in the league from the guys that are only adequate. The NFL is becoming more and more of a QB driven league and I don't see how you guys could be mad if people feel like the Bengals are getting left behind.

The only QB who could help solve the problem in Cincinnati is Michael Vick, and that's because he can create with his feet. When the offensive line doesn't block and the WR's don't run the right routes (or run them hard), then THERE IS NOT A SINGLE QB IN THE LEAGUE that could perform on a high level.

Maybe with a different QB guys would play harder, and don't tell me that's not likely. How often do guys not play for Brady? How about even Big Ben? You can't tell me that the Bengals do not have talent. It's focus, heart and desire that gets them IMO.

When is the last time they drafted a difference maker on Defense or the O-line. You win in the NFL with great line play. The Bengals have a bunch of shiny toys that look decent on paper, but no more. It's because they have no scouting staff. You keep bringing up Sanchez. Am I supposed to think he's good? He isn't.
December 7, 201015 yr Excuses, excuses. That's all I keep reading in here. Fact is, Tom Brady has never had the weapons that Manning has, and he NEVER plays like the "King" is...Give me Brady every day of the week and twice on Sundays. He's got 3 Super Bowl Rings that says he's good on Sundays. Manning is slowly starting to trend backwards...That's what happens when age catches up with you. I, for one, love it! I agree that Brady is better. But, I'm not sure that argument works anymore. Brady seems to do better when his weapons don't look great on paper. He thrives when he can spread the ball without worrying about getting someone touches and they become more difficult to defend. What do you focus on when trying to stop New England? I think it begins and ends with pass rush. If you can't get to Brady, you can't stop the Patriots. And that is hard to do with their current offense and his command of it.

The OL was good enough for Benson to have a career year last year. The pass blocking is not great, but it's not the worst in the league. Sanchez has been good this season with the exception of last night. Have you not been watching the NFL this season?

Last year the D beefed up on terrible teams and the O ran the ball and shortened the game. Who is good on the D? Joseph is pretty good and Hall is above average. Who else is good? The line isn't good at all. They are so not good that they are the first teams since 1958 to allow a play of 20 yards or more in the first 12 games of the season. Pretty not good if you ask me. TO is a diva that puts up fantasy stats and that's what Mikey likes. Benson had one good year and they had the lead a lot last year. Why did they go away from him this year? Shiny toys and idiots. It's terrible. If Sanchez is "good" why do they have 12 points combined in their 3 biggest games of the year that also happen to be huge losses? Why the question at the end? I seem to remember seeing him get blanked at home against GB and he was anything but good against the Bengals. Did you miss those games?

December 7, 201015 yr Who's good on the Defense? Who is their third best defensive player? Does he start for Baltimore or Pittsburgh? Peko I would guess, but that is not the point. There is obviously something there. They were ranked in the top 5 the year before and as far as personnel not much changed.

Just because there are not alot of big names on the defense does not mean that it's not good. It was great last year, not so good this year and the players didn't change. You don't get lucky for an entire season in the NFL, so I think motivation or something else is missing. They had the lead alot last year but they were not a talented team? You've already stated the coaching is horrible so that couldn't be the reason they were ahead alot either? Did teams just spot them a lead or are you just going in circles trying to make your argument work? As for Sanchez he has been money in close games this year, especially lately. He's a 2nd year QB so struggles are to be expected over the course of a season. This time last year Matt Ryan didn't look too good. Now look at him. I don't think Sanchez is on his level but he's shown flashes this season of having the potential to be a really good QB IMO.
