The Cards were just too much for Christian Co tonight. Jaylan Daniels, Cory Rogers and Bopper Stenzel looked great. GRC has so many weapons this year, they will be hard to stop. Bopper is goign to make a huge difference. Was great to see the two Stenzel brothers start together tonight.

 

Rogers and Zollo seem to clean the glass tonight. Hope to have stats tomorrow.

 

Kates for Christian Co is the real deal. Don't think he missed a free throw tonight.

I agree. When firing on all cylinders, they will scary. Am waiting paitently to see when Scott Co comes visiting on Jan 8th, then we take a stroll up to Mason on Feb 4th.

GRC's height really bothered Christian Co tonight...they had no answer for Rogers, Zollo and Daniels.

Sounds like a good game, but CC is a different team when those two are out there. Not saying they would have won, but would have been a better game. Now CC has to go to Marshall County Hoopfest.

I believe that Gold Sunrise mention that there is a chance that they could meet in the Fayette Co tourny in Jan? So if they do, both teams should be full speed and it be a completely different game.

No suprise here with Hickey and Tandy not playing. I would like to see this match-up later in the season when both teams are at full strength.

Actually it is the Toyota Classic . GRC plays Covington Catholic and Christian Co plays Boyle Co. According to the scoreboard, if both teams win then they would play Jan 21th at Scott Co.

Clark placed three players in double figures, led by senior Corey Rogers with 23 points. Because of foul trouble, Rogers played sparingly in the first half and scored just six points, but made up the difference in the final eight minutes and scored 16 points that helped put the game out of reach.

 

Vinny Zollo and Jaylen Daniel followed with 21 points each, with Daniel connecting on three shots from long range. Zollo complimented his scoring with 15 rebounds to complete a double-double effort.Zollo and Daniel paced the Cards with 10 points apiece in the opening half. Zollo tallied eight points in the second frame, including a bucket at the buzzer to end the first half. Daniel drained a pair of 3-pointers in the first eight minutes.

 

Christian County guard Donovan Kates paced Christian County and matched his jersey number with 33 points, including 20 of his team’s 31 points in the opening half.

In the Lexington paper today they called our inside players, "The 3 -Headed Monsters"

 

Cory got into early foul trouble, still rusty from football. He came on stong second half and ended up with leading the scorers with 23. He is a beast inside and will be hard for most teams to handle. Then you have Zollo, Purvis and Daniels. Depth is something we have this year. With Bopper Stenzel back and the addition of Moore, the PG position is strong. You also have Daniels that will see some PG duty, which is the position he started last year.

I agree with you Goldie!! GRC is going to be SCARY good this year. I was very IMPRESSED with Bopper Stenzel. He played great last night. He has improved so much since last year and will help to solidify the PG position this year. Christian Co played well without two top players last night, but GRC's inside presence and depth just wore them down. I hope that these two teams get to play in the Toyota Classic this year. It will be a very good game with Christian Co at full strength. Clark Co had very nice looking new uniforms last night. I really liked the new shorts. I wonder if you can buy them at All Star Sports?
