December 5, 201015 yr Author Looks like I am wrong again! At least 3 inches in downtown Mt. Sterling and serial coming down pretty good. Thanks to nWo for his weather expertise! Thanks for the compliment but I get my weather info from Chris Bailey's kentuckyweathercenter.com. Chris Bailey was saying 2-4 for our area. Lexington was saying 1-3. Cincinnati was saying less than 1. Thats why I get my weather info from kyweathercenter.com Chris Bailey's site is the best and the one I use. I follow him almost daily. He was calling for a weather pattern like this almost a month ago. He also said it looks like it will be pretty interesting around Christmas. One last thing. He said it looks like this winter will be like the one we had in 2000.
December 5, 201015 yr The side roads were starting to get pretty slick when I was out a couple hours ago. A lot is due to the wind blowing the snow back on the roads. There was a wreck on 536 by Cain's 'airport'. I drove by there at around 6:30m and the roads were bad then. I can imagine what that would have looked like at 10:30 if they didn't treat it between then. And if they did treat it, do they only use sand on those side roads?
December 6, 201015 yr Author What kind of 2000 weather did we have? I'm assuming a lot of snow? Below normal temperatures and frequent snow fall.
December 6, 201015 yr I drove by there at around 6:30m and the roads were bad then. I can imagine what that would have looked like at 10:30 if they didn't treat it between then. And if they did treat it, do they only use sand on those side roads? I used to live right off 536 in that area, and it was always a mess. If they did clear it, then they would only do one direction. It seemed like they treated it as a secondary road, so it never got much attention.
