First thing congrats to Danville for a big win. We made too many turnovers against a good Danville team to win the game. Good luck to Danville next week hope you can pull out a win. As for dickbutkus post about #7 he sustained a deep bruise in his shoulder against Fort Knox and was nowhere near 100% last night but this young man is only a Soph so he will have more and better days ahead of him. Monroe team be proud of the way you played and your season will miss watching all the Seniors and good luck to each one of you in the future.

Monroe put it all on the line and for that they should be proud, at least for one half they showed what we were capable of. We certainly had the game plan for victory but just had a bad night executing it, and there’s no one to blame for that.

As for the seniors, they should hold their heads very high, 2 regional championships and a regional runner up is quite the accomplishment. I have no doubt that the success these boys have had on the field will be mirrored by the success they will have in life...

I think the whole game just came down to Danville tightening up on defense. Except for the final drive in the first half MC could not move the ball on the ground. In the second half Danville made some adjustments. If you have to throw the ball as much as MC did to move the ball, sometimes it will come back to haunt you. Danville's offenses was never really slowed down, that's how they built the lead in the second half, most of the MC's turnovers were converted to touchdowns by the ADS and that is what good teams are supposed to do. Way to go ADS! Doesn't seem like many people are giving Danville much of a chance next friday, but if they play Admiral football they will be fine.:thumb:

I for one think they stand a very good chance, but the odds are against them like it was for Monroe. If they can slow the game down then I feel like they are as good or better than OC. This Admiral team is very talented, and very good offensively. If people think MC throws the ball a lot then you are in for a treat friday night. OC throws 10 times more and that many better!!! I was hoping for a Murray/ Monroe but did not get either. I did not feel that our defense could stop the Offense of OC. Danville may have a lot better results than I give our guys credit for. I am still rooting for the Admirals to take it to BG. My wife and I will be there rooting if they are!!!

Thanks for the kind words tsyoung, MC played their hearts out. I thought the MC QB was the best most determined QB Danville has faced this year. I think against OC the ADS will have to bring some heat and force the issue maybe gamble a little. I just don't think you can drop back in coverage and let the OC offense get comfortable and in rythum.

The crowds have been getting smaller and smaller each year. Its a shame that the sport that supports most of the athletics dept. doesn't have the fan / student support as it should.

MC's qb said at the house after the game that he was regretful that he had played his worst game of the year. My wife asssured him that they would not have been where they were without his talent and grit this year. He is a very good qb but his ride to college will come from baseball. That is his claim to fame! He is an awesome baseball player and a honor student to boot...my wife and I love this kid like he is one of our own...actually that goes for a bunch of this senior class!

tsyoung7, football has given your son more than you will ever imagine. He will go onto baseball and everything else but the lessons and memories of football will always be there and he will draw on them when needed. I understand the suddeness of the season ending loss in the playoffs, I've been there and have done that. Actually have had it both ways. I was extremely proud of both of my boys in both situations. They have gone onto college and I'm extremely proud of them. The same will happen for you and you will soon see what highschool football has given your son and realize it is bigger than winning any game.

I absolutely agree. I am a former player and he will carry these memories forever! The qb is not my son the fb is, but he might as well be an adopted one along with about 4 more. They just have this pack that after every game they all end up at one of the four houses that night to talk to football and mend the wounds...:lol: These guys are as close as true brothers.
