The Bulldogs squandered two trips inside the HC 5 (one lost fumble for a touchback and one stopped on 4th and inches inside the 1), and dropped 2 passes that hit the receivers on the hands. My hat's off the Henderson County. They are a talented, hard-nosed football team. I thought they outplayed Male, but couldn't keep up in overtime.

Batting is an intentional act that involves slapping or striking the ball with the arm or hand.

 

Any forward pass in flight may be batted in any direction by an eligible receiver.

Eligible offensive players may not bat a backward pass in flight forward.

A ball in player possession shall not be batted forward by a teammate.

All defensive players (always eligible) can bat any pass in flight in any direction.

 

Illegal batting carries a fifteen (15) yard penalty.

Henderson's radio coverage had a mic on the white hat and he actually called illegal touching. He said the TE was covered up.

As far as the game I'm proud of the Colonels. The defense played as well as I can remember a Henderson defense playing. Congrats to Male and good luck next week.

Henderson County fans should be proud of the Colonels. They played fast and physical on both sides of the ball and Male was lucky to get the win. I was relieved by the outcome, but I hated to see the HC kids come up short after playing such a great game.

When they had a 31 yard field goal to win it I just knew it was over. Potts doesn't miss much especially from that distance. I hate that his season and career ended with that kick.

I should mention the gutsy play of Male's QB, who took a wicked blow to the throat on a failed goalline sneak late in the 4th. After a few minutes to gather himself during the Henderson possession, he came back to throw the game-tying TD pass with about 5 min left in regulation.
