Over course they have choosen a Democrat governor for 52 of the last 60 years so I guess they can't be too smart. Please. You know darned good and well a beloved former UK basketball player could get elected in this state even if he was an avowed Communist, let alone whether it was a D or an R beside his name.

If you think I'm off-base, you're being very naive about a populace whose interest in UK basketball is off the charts on a scale of 1-10, while their interest in politics and government is about a 2. I can hear it now, probably right after those folks are confronted with his multiple abuses of taxpayer dollars with his lavish spending as Ag Commissioner: "Richie stuck with us when things were at their worst after Eddie Sutton. He'll always have my vote." In a state that ranks near the bottom in education, I have very little faith in Kentucky voters to use their heads instead of their hearts in the voting booth.
