Congratulations to Greenup on a good season. They have a fine team and played hard but when KC shut down the run GC didn't seem to have anything to fall back on. Lyle is a fine back and the GC offensive line works hard.

 

It's a long way home and doubt any GC people will be on here until tommorrow but I would be real interested in a KC/Rowan Co. comparison.

Congratulations to Knox Central!

Congratulations to Knox Central. Their Defense is the real deal and as you know, Defense wins Championships. I wish them luck in the rest of the playoffs. As mentioned above, Greenup was just to one-dimensional in their attack and our defense not where it needs to be.

 

It was a long ride home, but I still have not processed my final thoughts on our season. It is the end of an era for me, as my son is a senior, has played football for the past 11 years and will not be playing at the next level.

About what I expected. GC to one demisional.

I think that they will beat RC this week and we will see a rematch.

An interesting sidenote: KC took the opening kickoff, marched down the field and scored. As they prepared for the PAT, there was a power surge and the stadium was plunged into total darkness for nearly a half hour while everything was reset and the light banks did their slow warmup. Pretty cool that as soon as some power was restored the PA played "Thriller" while waiting for the lights to come back on. The student section seemed to enjoy it.

 

I was tempted to walk over to the Greenup section and tell them "Honest folks, we are a rural county but we really do have electricity".

Knox Central once again found ways to get the ball to Jeffrey Canady. He spent an almost equal amount of time at running back and reciever scoring multiple times from each position. Barger continues to impress with both his arm and his feet and the O line gives him lots of time to decide. Good games also by Turpin and Bailey. The defense, as usual, was awesome.

Jeffrey Canady is one that KC is going to try to get the ball into his hands as much as possible. My opinion is that if you can stop him then you basically stop their offense.
