:thumb: Conway ran one of the worst campaigns I have ever seen. He never connected with the voters in Kentucky. As for the Aqua Buddha ad, I think that was the act of a desperate man. I believe polling showed him way behind and he no choice but to do something drastic. IMO If that race were within 3 or 4 points, Conway never runs that ad.

 

I agree with Rockmom on Paul. He is one of the scariest politicians I have seen in a long time. But as scary as he is, his message about controlling spending and the deficit hit home with me. That was what this election was all about Paul talked about it and Conway didn't. We see the results. I wish Paul the best on making headway on the spending/budget issue and will hope that the rest of the Senate keeps him from going off the deep end.

 

Agree with you regarding the Conway campaign, and while Paul showed some naivety along the trail, especially in the beginning; I'm certainly not in fear of him, and agree with his smaller government/budget restraint messages. While I wish him no ill will, I hope the actions of Conway (and many others like him on both sides) at the end of this race, totally destroy his political career!!

 

I'm so sick of the negative campaigning and outright lies put forth in these races, most to avoid running on one's positions and/or accomplishments, or lack thereof!! While its often been said that politics is a dirty business, I'm personally quite sick of the lies and lack of actual governing that's taking place, both in Washington and Frankfort.

You have been consistent on this from the primaries, and I have been saying that the perfect storm happened in Kentucky for Paul. He ran against a weak establishment opponent in the primary in Grayson, and then faced off against another weak opponent in Conway. Paul smoked him as I thought he would. I understand why you and RM may have concerns, but I say I am glad you are concerned, Washington needs some serious shaking up and some outside the box thinking.....we shall see.

 

The Paul Conway race was a 2 point spread at the end of September. If I had time, it would be interesting to go back and see what happened over the last week of September and first week or so of October that turned the race toward Paul.
