Who are the NKYFL All Stars? I heard tonight that in the SR Division Daniel Kremer from Bellevue was chosen as a Defensive All Star.

Midgets- SK beat Newport

Juniors- Spartans defeated Bellevue

Sr's South Kenton defeated Bellevue in OT 28-22.

 

I saw the Sr game and Bellevue jumped out to a 22-8 lead after returning the 2nd half kickoff deep into SK territory. The Lions came back and scored and then kicked an onside kick that they recovered in Bellevue territory with 4 min left to play. They drove down, scored and converted the 2pt attempt to tie the game 22-22. OT consisted of Bellevue getting the ball first. They gained a quick 5 yards and had 2nd and 5. They moved it down to the 2 yrd line on the next play. 3rd and goal from the 2 yrd line and they called a QB sneak and gained nothing. 4th down they went to their stud RB Baird #70 and he was stopped right at the goal line. SK 's turn they gained a quick 5, then on the next play got down to the 2 yrd line. I believe they scored on the next play to get the win.

 

Bellevue's RB Tyler Baird is an absolute beast. He is a big boy and runs very hard and has deceptive speed. He was the player of the game for Bellevue with no question. Daniel Kremer also had a fantastic game for Bellevue scoring 2 touchdowns. Rocco Pangallo the QB also played very well for Bellevue.

 

#8 the Tailback for South Kenton was very quick and had some really nice runs.

With the South Kenton Nittany Lions Pee Wees, Midgets and Seniors all winning their Super Bowls they become the first orginization in NKYFL history to win 3 Super Bowls in one year. Atleast that was the talk last night after the Senior game finals.

And where will those three young men mentioned playing for the Bellevue Seniors be going to HS???

That is correct. I'm so proud of our boys at South Kenton...especially our Senior boys. They really gave a new meaning to the words teamwork and perseverance. They never gave up, even when they were down 22-8. They just went out and did their jobs and played great football.

That just makes the South Kenton win that much better!

And that is the inherent problem with the NKYFL and the schools they feed and why schools are going to middle school programs thus creating a huge issue at the senior level.

 

Kids that live in Ft. Thomas and will be going to Highlands for example are making a majot impact on NKYFL teams and taking playing time from kids that will go to those schools (Bellevue and Newport right off the bat)......therefore those kids never develop. Case in point both the starting QB at Newport and the starting QB for Bellevue senior teams are Ft. Thomas kids...............NO QB is being developed for either high school team...........a recipe for disaster for those high schools. This not only makes the strong stronger (at least 4-5 QB's being developed in the Ft. Thomas league that Highlands has to choose from plus the two additional ones)..............but it really weakens these high school programs when they have nobody with experience coming into play skilled positions....................

That just makes the South Kenton win that much better!

 

The senior divison is so watered down it isn't even funny. They might as well get rid of it. Most of the teams at the senior divison barely have enough kids to have a team.
