Credit the Ryle offensive line, they are blowing open holes. Mullins is a nice compliment to Elliot in the backfield.

 

The missed fumble call is really haunting the Birds. Elliot clearly fumbled at the 6 min mark of the 2nd qtr about 8 plays ago and Birds recovered. They ruled him down but the replay showed it wasnt even close.

They arent backing down that is for sure. They need more guys playing like Huddleston/Seidle and Abner. Those guys will smack ya but I havent seen many other defenders laying any licks. They clearly miss Brendan Sullivan at LB, he is a run stopper.

It appears that Highlands' strongest LB, Brendan Sullivan, is still suffering from his back injury as he has not played in this game. That could be a reason why Ryle has been successful running the ball.

 

I believe the announcers said Towles has only completed one pass to a HHS player the entire first half... the windy weather is not gonna help the Bluebirds' passing game, it seems.

BTW, Ryle is absolutely HUGE compared to the Birds defense.
