Beechwood vs NDA volleyball predictions

Beechwood in 3 games

I agree Cacdawg. The tigers always play good behind there awesome student section that will be in full force tomorrow!

Notre Dame easily...........

Keep dreaming Hulk and Cacdawg and perhaps ONE DAY your dream will come true, however, today won't be that day.

NDA in two and Beechwood will be lucky to score 20 in either set.

I really think there needs to be a state mandate on these district games instead of each district voting on whether or not to do a blind draw (which I believe happens in this district) compared to seeding. I understand why Ludlow and Cov. Latin vote for the blind draw (case in point, this year where the best two teams in the district are on the same side of the bracket) so one of them, every once and a while, will go to the regional tournament. This argument can be made either way, I can see both sides, so it really doesn't matter. What's the saying..... it is what it is?

As far as the student section goes...... Beechwood does have a great student section and they will be a factor tonight. I'm all for cheering, chanting, etc., however, it does need to stay on the respectful side, which I am sure it will (not always been the case from years past). I'm sure the Beechwood administration will be in attendence (since they are the host school for districts) and will ensure that the students keep everything respectful.

Good Luck to both teams and may the better team win!!!

I have to reluctantly agree with DP. Though I am hoping for a huge upset, I can't imagine that this will be the year. Now that Beechwood has started volleyball in the 4th grade with a lot of girls playing, hopefully that day will come down the road. I hope I am in the stands when that happens.

I have also complained for years about the blind draw. It doesnt matter how well you do in your season, you are reduced to hoping you dont draw Notre Dame in the first round. Unfortunately, Beechwood seems to draw them a lot (at least it seemed that way when my daughter played).

I disagree with Dp when he says it really doesnt matter, because it does. Last year Beechwood came very close to beating Scott, which would have been a huge victory for the Tigers. You never know what is going to happen.

Are there any boys' sports that depend on a draw? Seems like a grade school way to do things.:madman:

Some of the boys' basketball districts still use the blind draw.

Correct. In my opinion, it should be universal for the state. It's one way or the other for all districts, it shouldn't be up to each district with regard to blind draw / seeding. Nor should it depend on the sport.

Beechwoodfan - When I say it 'doesn't matter', I mean that the argument for a blind draw versus a seeding doesn't matter because I don't see it changing. No matter how much it should be seeded, and I believe we agree there, that as long as the 'smaller / weaker' teams have a vote there is no way they will agree to seeding. If I'm Cov. Latin or Ludlow, I would vote for the blind draw everytime to give their teams a chance at regions. That's why I say it doesn't matter, because they can make the argument that their teams should get a 'chance' to go to regions and the blind draw is really their only oppurtunity. I disagree with that logic by those schools, however, that is the argument they will ALWAYS make! That is why it doesn't matter.

I also agree with you that the blind district draw takes the Beechwood / Scott game out from last year if NDA and Beechwood would have played in the first round of the districts.

As a side note, in my opinion, Beechwood should have won last year. They had Soctt right where they wanted/needed them. Heck, as NDA fans, we were rooting for our district partner to pull off that win. Then we could have had an all district regional final. Which would have been cool.

That match-up has no chance of occurring again this year because of the blind draw. :irked:

Got to 2nd this. ND in two sets.

Tigers hung tough, and have nothing to be ashamed of losing with 17, and 20. In the end, NDA just to big and talented to allow smaller tigers a chance for huge upset. I do not expect anything will change with lack of seeding tourney, as long as Ludlow and Latin cast deciding vote. Hope Ludlow enjoys their trophy they win for winning a coin flip. Oh well, solid season for Tigers, winning conference without losing a game, winning Bronze at JCIVT, and beating or hanging tough with much bigger schools all year. No point in lamenting what could have been with Ogle, Schneider, (and last year, +Hood) VB girls are going places. The thing they should most be proud of is a TEAM cumulative GPA of 4.02.

Great job to Jess and the tigers! To get 17 and 20 points vs NDA is pretty impressive. Congrats on a great season and you should be very proud of those classy intelligent ladies. We personally loved the student cheering section, large rowdy crowds are the best!
