On the west side of the state in 4A, Allen-County Scottsville has been impressive. I believe most would agree Lone Oak is not as strong as last season, but are still a legit threat. I think it is fair to say the path to the carpet is much easier on the western side of the bracket. Is ACS the favorite?

I wouldn't say "clear-cut". Louisville Western is in the way, and many have them as the best team. I personally think Allen County-Scottsville is the best team on that side. Before last week, many would not have agreed with me, but then again, many had Lone Oak as the best team. It is painfully clear they are not as good as last year, and I believe them to be beatable if you get them outside of Paducah.

I would rank the "west" in this order:

 

1A. Western

1B. Allen County

3. Collins

4. Lone Oak or Franklin-Simpson

 

Marion County could figure in there somewhere, too ... they already own a win over Collins and will probably win the district because of it, sending Collins to Western for a second-round game.

 

This week's ACS-FS loser will probably make a second-round trip to Lone Oak ... potentially great game, either way.

I would have to make Allen the prohibited favorite at this point. They are really strong this year.

I will say ACS is going all the way this year! Fs is really good, but not as good as ACS!!!!
