Garrard County defeated Estill County in a really good ballgame Friday night in Lancaster. After allowing 48.7 points per game in their first three, Garrard's defense forced four Engineer fumbles to get a victory. The defense made a huge stop on fourth down at midfield to stop a late Estill County drive, effectively sealing the game.

 

Garrard's strength so far has been their passing game, but the Lions were able to grind out a ton of yards tonight in the running game. My unofficial stats/memory said Garrard only attempted 2 passes all night.

 

The defensive strategy tonight was fantastic. And the offensive game plan was executed to perfection. I also believe the play-calling and clock management by Garrard was the best I've seen while Coach Scenters has been here.

 

One final note, the officials tonight were the best, most efficient, most professional crew that has worked Dyehouse Stadium in years. They were terrific. Great night for football in Lancaster!
