September 10, 201016 yr I use a pork shoulder and pork tenderloin and smoke mine with a dry rub of spices I have and just mix together. I let the dry rub marinate on the pork overnight before I smoke it. As Jim stated I smoke it slow and in a electric smoker.
September 10, 201016 yr Agree with above. Dry rub and let marinate in fridge overnight. If you have some flavored wood, that works well in the smoker also. One thing that will save you some time is to use a kitchen utensil called "bear claws" My wife got them for me and it made tearing the meat a lot easier.

My brother has a smoker, so it looks like I will need to borrow his. Where did she get the bear claw at?

September 13, 201016 yr If you want an easy and tasty pulled pork recipe here you go. It's not as good as doing it in a smoker but it gets rave reviews everywhere. I usually throw it in the crock the night before, let it cook over night, pull it the next day. You need a 7qt crock pot. http://www.amazon.com/dp/B003OAJGJO/ref=asc_df_B003OAJGJO1248603?smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER&tag=dealt180221-20&linkCode=asn&creative=395093&creativeASIN=B003OAJGJO 1 - 6-7lb pork butt 1 - Lrg yellow onion 4 - Tblsp liquid smoke 1/4 - cup water 1 - batch bbq rub (see below) Directions. - Do not turn crock pot on until everything is in it. - Cut onions into quarters. You don't need to peel them just cut them and throw them in the crock pot. - Mix the 4 Tblsp of liquid smoke with the 1/4 cup water and pour into the crockpot. - Completely coat the butt with the rub. Thick and heavy. - Put butt in crockpot, fat side up. - Put lid on, turn crock pot on low, let it sit and simmer about 10 hours. - Unplug and let sit for 2 hours or so to cool a bit. - Pour off the liquid. (I keep the liquid, skim the fat, and use the liquid as a base for my own sauce.) - Seperate the meat from the fat and the bones. You'll have to get your hands drity here. - Serve on buns with your favorite sauce. Rub Recipe 2 tsp paprika 2 tsp granulated sugar 2 tsp chili powder 1 tsp salt 1 tsp cumin 1 tsp ground mustard 1 tsp black pepper 1 tsp garlic powder
