Schneider is a very good athlete and I hate to hear about him getting hurt. Hopefully he recovers quickly and can get back out on the gridiron as well as the hardwood.

Thanks for the thoughts and prayers. Logan Schneider # 74 suffered a compound fracture of his lower left left leg above the ankle. It was set at Children's Hospital last night but they couldn't get it lined up perfectly. Dr. Colosimo was able to surgically reset it sucessfully this morning and they/we are hopeful for a full recovery. Thanks again and we appreciate your kind thoughts. The Schneider Family

In order for an injury to be classified as a compound fracture, the outside air (and dirt and bacteria) must be able to get to the fracture site without a barrier of skin or soft-tissue. Therefore, a bone does not need to be through the skin in order for the injury to be called a compound fracture. Just for clarification.

I know exactly what a compound fracture is and this was NOT a compound fracture.
