September 4, 201016 yr They were preapproved before making the offer however they are switching banks so we will see. I'm not trying to rain on the parade, I just know a buddy of mine had his house sold but then the appraisal didn't come in high enough for the sale price - so the people's financing didn't work even though they were "pre-approved". I hope it all works out for you, but I'd stay after the buyers to make sure everything is going as it should regarding their financing. Good luck.

Property values have got so crazy you never know what an appraiser will come back with. We have the inspection tomorrow morning so hopefully everything goes ok there. Then it will be on to the appraisal.
September 10, 201016 yr Author Had the inspection this week. There were three minor things they want us to fix. None should be too expensive so I don't expect it to be an issue. If we get past this the only hurdle left is the appraisal which I am extremely nervous about. With the market the way it is you never know what the appraiser will come back with.
September 10, 201016 yr We had our house "For Sale By Owner" From Feb. 1-May 31 and had several people call about it and look at it. We listed with an agent June 1st and have had it looked at ONCE. Not a good time to sell a house in this part of KY.
September 29, 201016 yr Author Found out yesterday we should close early next week. The buyers are approved through an FHA loan and there have been a few hang ups with that. We also signed a contract to buy a house last week so hopefully we will close on that one by the end of Oct.

September 30, 201016 yr Author Congrats Woodsrider. Exciting but stressful times for sure. No doubt. I am just excited to get into our new house. Much bigger and has an inground pool. Of course we won't be able to use that until next year.
