2. Monroe County vs. 3A Adair County

3. Danville vs. 1A Pikeville (9/4 at Corbin)

4. DeSales at 4A Bullitt East

5. Prestonsburg at 3A Breathitt County

6. Murray vs. 1A Fulton City

7. Owensboro Catholic vs. 5A Owensboro

8. Glasgow vs. 5A Barren County

9. Fort Campbell vs. Pearl Cohn, TN

10. Corbin vs. 5A #1 Boyle County (9/4)

I thought the poor performance against a non-ranked school would drop the Falcons down. Ncc is very deserving of a #1 ranking. Good job!

I understand Monroe dropping to #2, so far this group of Falcons have yet to prove their worthy of the top spot. They can be the best team in 2A, but they’ve got work to do…

I absolutely agree with SemperFiFalcon. If changes are not made and these boys don't find the heart the past Falcons have shown things could get ugly real quick. They have the talent, they have the coaching, the heart is what you can't teach!!! If they find it other teams in 2a had better watch out!!!

That sounds just about like our Falcon team!

Looks good. I see DeSales hanging in the top five all season. My dark horse to make a further move up the poll are the Scotties. This team appears to have some talent and a whole lot of heart.

I think both Owensboro Catholic and Glasgow both bear watching. Murray may be a tad overrated.

As long as NewCath stays healthy, they will be a tough out come playoff time. They have a very experienced team and the line is starting to come together. Aiken may have been one of the worst football teams that I have ever seen, so you have to take that score w/ a grain of salt. NewCath, however, dominated the way that they should have. The new offense is spreading the ball around. Hayes gives NewCath a breakaway threat that they were sorely lacking last year and Cain and Kelly both look much faster. Daunt, Cain, and Doyle are all good receivers, and Hitchew is not being asked to make throws that he can't make yet. Once they get Tallon back they will have another two year, two-way starter back in the fold and will help with the limited depth. It also helps when the left side of you line averages 6'8" 290 lbs. Both Jack and Jake are moving better than last year, and Jake was one of the best big men in the region in basketball. Whatever they did for offseason conditioning has worked. They will know exactly where they are over the next few weeks as they get Madison Central, Ryle, Campbell Co. and CovCath in the upcoming weeks.

Yes it does, most definitely.

Later.
