Baseball Trivia Thread

Featured Replies

I always love some good trivia...

Here's one I just heard on Mike & Mike, and I actually got it right.

Albert Pujols has now had 10 straight seasons with 30+HRs. Only 3 other active players have streaks of even half (5 seasons) that. Who are they?

As always, no looking up the answers.

A-Rod

Adam Dunn

Ryan Howard

??? Not sure on Howard. Maybe Mark Texiera.

The bolded makes you correct. :thumb:

Dunner is actually working on his 8th straight season this year.

I am glad you posted this because how it works, every Tuesday morning on the way to the office I hear the trivia question, but never get to hear the answer because it is when I arrive to work. All of his questions are revolved around current players.

Yep, I love his questions, but rarely end up getting them right...

Next question, there are 7 active pitchers in baseball with 250+ career saves, two of which play for the same team. Who are they, and what team?

Wagner, Hoffman, Mariano Rivera, Brad Lidge, I guess Cordero.

Lidge is incorrect.

Also, I only meant name the two on the same team, and what team they play for, but since you've already named 4, might as well get all 7.

Does Isy count? If so, then the Reds.

:thumb: That's the team. 2 others that are considered active by MLB.com, but neither has pitched this year.

I done the same exact thing this morning! HAHA

K Rod. His season a few years ago pushed him up the list a lot. He had 60+ saves two or three seasons ago. If he stays healthy (after this year) then he could be the saves leader by the end of his career. He is still pretty young.

Nope, the remaining two have not pitched this season, and while still considered active, are not on a major league roster.

Is Smoltz still considered active? Did he officially retire?
