Any word on how this scrimmage went, they were scheduled to scrimmage last night (friday) and havnt seen anything on it yet.

It ended in a 6-6 tie. Corbin has a long ways to go, they are very young and small on the offensive and defensive lines. I don't believe thay have any senior lineman on the roster and play a 2-3 juniors, so some of the young pups are going to get thrown to the wolves when Boyle Co. rolls into town.

I'm not sure what the plan is offensively, they do not look very polished throwing the ball and may struggle trying to run the ball. It could be a tough season for the Hounds with so few juniors and seniors still on the team.

What about the Scotties?

Glasgow looked big and very athletic. However my assessment might have been a little skewed due to the fact Corbin is very small up front and seemed to have a long way to go before they are ready to contend. I think Corbin has some athletes they are just not being put on the field. I think by the 4th week of the season Jewell will get his defense where it needs to be and make the personal changes to best fit the new defense. As for offense Corbin looked too 1-dimensional during the scrimmage and are going rely on Taylor much more than I had thought. And I'm not sure who he is but I know there is better options at wide out than #1.

Glasgow moved the ball inside the redzone 4 times during the varsity portion of the scrimmage but managed only 1 touchdown (missed the PAT). The receivers/backs dropped several passes. Glasgow's defense allowed 2 field goals and looked much more aggressive than last year. The secondary also dropped a few interceptions.

Corbin will always be competitive but it maybe the year they loose the district title.

Hopefully that won't be the case. I'd like the see Corbin be very competitive against Boyle County. However, I do feel like it hurts Corbin that they have to play Boyle County the 2nd game of the season.

Corbin d will be tough.
