August 7, 201016 yr Looks like a good card to me. I always buy if Silva fights. I would be surprised if you didn't get your wish. Lately, you never know if Silva will fight or play. But, considering the fallout from his last outing, the threat of being dropped by Dana, and the trash talk from Sonnen, if he doesn't deliver the goods Saturday, he probably doesn't need to be fighting for a living. If Sonnen fights as aggresively as he's said, then I think Silva can basically finish this fight whenver he chooses. Your guess is as good as mine on when that will be, but I think it will be early. I don't think this fight will last a full round. My predictions: Silva/Sonnen - Silva via KO Alves/Fitch - Alves via KO Hughes/Almeida - Hughes via Decision Nelson/Dos Santos - Dos Santos via KO There are also a few others I wouldn't mind seeing. Dustin Hazelett is from KY, I believe. Phil Davis and Johny Hendricks are both undefeated, so they might be worth keeping an eye on. And, Ben Saunders from TUF has looked solid. I think Brock, Carwin, Velasquez and Dos Santos give the HW division the strongest top 4 of any weight class. I'm really looking forward to Cain and Brock. Hazelett is a Lawrence Co. boy, our dads worked together in the mines for a longtime. Big time card, I hope Big Country, Sonnen, and Hazelett all win.
August 8, 201016 yr Big Country has caught a lot of punches, with his head. Kind of funny that the heavyweight number one contender fight is the first on the main card tonight, but Dos Santos has looked really good. Not beat Brock Lesnar good, but has looked good.
August 8, 201016 yr Nelson took some punishment and kept dealing though, never gave up. Took some big shots, reminded me a lot of Cabbage in the old school days. Dos Santos by unanimous decision.
August 8, 201016 yr The first fight really was a classic, the beating BC took, my goodness. It was nice seeing Hughes get that win with an awesome submission, it was just frightening when they mentioned on the broadcast that Hughes made his debut back in the UFC 30's.

His MMA record is now 43-7, that is crazy. By comparison Randy Couture is 18-10. Most guys max out in the twentys as far as wins go.
August 8, 201016 yr Silva - Chael Sonnen getting ready to fight Dos Santos won via unanimous decision. Hughes won via submission Guida won via submission Fitch won via unanimous decision - just Jon Fitched Thiago Alves, , pure Jon Fitch wallowed him out.
August 8, 201016 yr I would love an upset and see this kid shock the world, but at the same time, I want VINTAGE Silva darnit!!
August 8, 201016 yr WOW!!!! What a finish by Silva!!!!! Dominated for nearly 5 Rounds and at the last minute, pulls it out with a triangle choke, just unbelievable!!!!
August 8, 201016 yr Wow, can't believe what I just saw. Chael Sonnen was around three minutes away from being your new Middleweight champ. Dominated Anderson Silva for four rounds, absolutely dominated him for almost every second. Never have I seen someone work Anderson Silva like that, I mean Chael was laying it on him, then still had him down and was pounding on him, Silva caught the arm, slipped the triangle and thats all she wrote. Once Sonnen had him down in the fifth round, I said to my buddy unless Anderson can somehow get back up that he was done. Sonnen looked so good on top all fight and didn't give Silva a chance to catch him in anything, but Anderson caught him when it mattered the most. Still in shock, that was awesome/crazy. Just really cannot put it into words.
August 8, 201016 yr I went nuts, clapping and screaming HE TAPPED! HE TAPPED! I'm sure my dad thought I was losing my mind.
