What does Mason County need to do to improve in 2010/2011? What do they need to keep doing to be sucessful? Remember, please be constructive.

Last year through injuries and adversity, they found a way to develop some depth off the bench, had guys step up when they needed them. If their schedule is accurate, they won't play a home game until January. If that ends up being the case, this team will be very well tested when they get to the meat of the schedule in February and playoff time in March.

 

I think they are a borderline top 10 team in the state right now, all depends on how the bench develops. I know we have to get through football season first, but I can't wait to get back to the Fieldhouse next year.

The season objective is simple: win the now called Mason County Invitational (formerly 10th region tournament) in middle March get to Rupp Arena and see what happens!

Are you saying that playing of the road the other team has the home court advantage? Mason will be tested just because they have their first several games on the road? I would think that the strength of their schedule would be more of a prediction if they were tested or not.

Not trying to be argumentative, more for my information; what does Mason bring back to make them a top 10 team in the state??

I just think playing a bunch of games on the road, traveling, can really bring a team together. Even though there wasn't a Scott County or Lexington Catholic on their schedule last year, a few of the so called "gimme" games ended up being challenges, but those tough games ended up defining the team as the season went on.

Gilbert, Setty and Pawsat will all be Seniors, Black and Harris will be Juniors. If it wasn't for the Clark County All Star team, they would be big time favorites to win another 10th Region title. King, Bluford and Bradley Lang graduated, which are huge losses, but it seems like are always other players just waiting in the wings to take their spot.

I called Mason a top 10 type team in the state, in another thread earlier this summer, and was chastised for it. The five guys you mentioned being back are all good. I'm not sure if that will be the starting five, and I'm not sure who will relieve Gilbert in ball handling, but my guess is they are going to be better than a lot of people think. A top five team in the state, no. A team that can beat ANYONE on a give night, yes sir.

Ohearn and his bunch will be fine, this will be a very well balanced team once again just like last years team. Most of all, this bunch of kids know how to win, have experienced it over the last two to three years and they are smart players on and off the court. I agree with Sandman and Homeless Camel with all they said above. Homeless Camel, I understood your statement above about the road schedule and as far as that is concerned all that HCA stuff never has to be defended due to winning away from the fieldhouse in March the two previous years before last year. Its as simple as this Tradition Never Graduates!

Tradition says: "They're the champs until someone beats them". They won't beat themselves and they won't quit and if you remember, Clark County had the best talent in the state last year and wathced the Sweet 16 from the spectator seats. My point, eveyone said "they'll be down" last year and although I agreed then and agree now something tells me you better bring it if you want to beat them.
