You are correct. Most hoax believers don't ARRIVE at the conclusion that it was faked. They START there. The simple fact of the matter is that all evidence shows that we DID land on the moon. When taken as bits and pieces, there are certain parts that individually could have been replicated on Earth. However, NO evidence shows that the moon landing WAS faked.

It requires a MUCH greater leap of faith to believe the landings were a hoax than it requires to believe they are fact.

 

...believing that thousands and thousands of people who had to be privy to such a large-scale hoax could collectively keep their mouths shut...

...believing that all the world's governments - some of whom would love to be able to de-bunk something that gives the USA prestige - have never been able to use all their technical resources to prove it to have been a hoax...

...believing that all the remaining physical evidence on the moon, which can be seen from Earth, is somehow a figament of our imagination...

 

Many of the supposed "proof" that the landings were a hoax sound plausible, but they ignore the above and they also fail - either by themselves or collectively - to prove that it didn't happen.
