They all ended up in perfect spots IMO.

 

Wall is the face of the Wizards. They are rebuilding, Arenas will move off the ball and will provide a nice player to score so Wall doesn't have to do everything. Plus they will have some cap space in the upcoming years to add a nice player or two.

 

Cousins gets to play with one of the best young guards in the league, and gets to play with some other decent bigs who can help him out but not steal his minutes in Landry and Dalembert.

 

Patterson is a perfect match for the Rockets IMO.

 

Bledsoe is going to a great situation believe it or not. The Clippers have some talent. Baron Davis will be a great mentor for Bledsoe, Kaman isn't that old, and Griffin and Gordon are nice young players he can grow with.

 

Orton gets to practice against the best Big man in the league. He gets coached by one of the best coaches in the league. He will get even more coaching from one of the best big men to ever play in the league in Ewing.

 

Realistically none of them could have hoped for better situations IMO.

Oh I think Orton is a future bust for sure. I wouldn't have taken him with a top 40 pick. I could see Bledsoe being one as well, but only if people think he's going to be a megastar PG in the league. If he's put in the class of guys like Bibby, Fisher, or even Aaron Brooks he'll be okay. But I can't imagine himi as a Rondo, Williams, CP3 kind of guy :thumb:.

Dalembert was a salary dump. He will still get minutes. ESPN has Dalembert slated to start C for them. Cousins is more of PF in my opinion anyway. They also have their first round pick from a few years back in Thompson and Landry (one of the most underrated players in the league IMO) down in the post. I cannot imagine a situation where Cuz doesnt start for the majority of the season for Sactown. They are young and its not like they are a championship contender, I would guess him and Evans will be the show from day one. But I can see what you are saying though :thumb:.

If anyone imagined him as that type of player, he wouldn't have lasted into the second half of the first round.

I think Orton did well. He's in a good situation backing up Dwight Howard. Practicing against Howard should only help his game, as will learning from Patrick Ewing (at least you would think). There's no pressure for him to have an immediate impact. If he can provide some defensive and rebounding presence, he gives the Magic some nice depth behind Howard. And, hopefully he can develop his game to do more than that at some point.

 

The Rockets seem like a good fit for Patterson. They have a reputation for being a blue-collar, hard-working team and that's Patterson.

 

Wall and Cousins obviously went to worse teams, so they'll be expected to lead the turnarounds for their clubs.

 

Bledsoe ending up with the Clippers is probably the worst. The Clippers are cursed. I can't help but think of the letter to Blake Griffin that Bill Simmons wrote prior to last year's draft.

Not a huge Ortan fan but I was sure cheering for him draft night.
